Individual Person In The Crowd At Wimbledon Championships

Tickets to The Wimbledon Championships are usually sold in pairs. But what happens if you want to buy or sell an individual or odd number of tickets?

Why might you want to buy or sell a single or odd number of tickets?

Although tickets to the Championships are typically sold in pairs, there may be occasions when you want to buy a single ticket. You may simply want to attend on your own? Perhaps you are a family of 3 and you need a single ticket to add to a pair of tickets you already have? Maybe you are looking to take an odd number of clients with you?

If you have a Wimbledon Debenture Ticket you are legally entitled to sell your tickets. If you have a pair of tickets but one of you cannot attend, you might want to give, transfer or sell a single ticket to another person.

All other types of Wimbledon tickets, such as those obtained in the Public Ballot or in the Wimbledon Queue, are not transferable.

Public Ballot and Overseas Ballot tickets

When You apply for tickets in one of the Wimbledon Ballots, you can specify whether you want a single ticket. The ballot application form contains a tick box where you can indicate that you want a single ticket.

Tickets purchased in the Queue

You can join the Wimbledon Queue on your own or as a pair. If you are successful, you will have the option to buy a single ticket as an individual or a two tickets if you are with a companion. Wimbledon Debenture Tickets

Wimbledon Debenture Tickets are initially allocated to Wimbledon Debenture holders in pairs. However, Wimbledon Debenture Tickets are the only tickets to the Championships that are legally transferable.

There is an active secondary market for Debenture Tickets. Although Debenture Ticket holders will often prefer to sell pairs of tickets for days that that they cannot attend the Tournament, many ticket holders are happy to sell individual or odd number tickets. It is often still possible to buy a single or odd number of tickets.

Once seat numbers are allocated by the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) in May, it is possible to buy, sell and exchange tickets with a view to getting a group of adjacent seats.

Returned tickets (Resale Kiosk)

Spectators are asked to return their tickets when exiting the Grounds, if they have no intention of returning on the same day.

Returned tickets are then made available for sale at the Resale Kiosk and can be bought as single tickets, or in pairs.

We had a great time on Saturday

"Just wanted to let you know that we had a great time on Saturday and that it all went smoothly. I didn't realise it was better than making a booking in a restaurant, but even then we were very lucky to get a beautiful table for 6 at the Wingfield restaurant. It was the only one available! Thanks for helping me organise this nice day with the family and let's stay in touch for future years."
