Were tickets to Wimbledon 2020 cancelled or rolled-over?

On 1st April 2020, the Main Board of the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) and the Committee of Management of The Championships cancelled the 2020 Championships due to public health concerns linked to the coronavirus pandemic.
The board's decision was announced three months before the scheduled start of the 2020 Championships.
Whether tickets to the 2020 Championships would be cancelled, refunded or rolled over, depended on the type of ticket and the way the ticket had been sold.
Wimbledon tickets can be purchased in the following ways:
- Public Ballot
- Hospitality tickets
- Debenture tickets
- Ticketmaster and other packages

Wimbledon 2025 starts in:
Public Ballot
When the AELTC announced the cancellation of the 2020 Championship, the ballot for 2020 had already taken place. The lucky applicants had been informed and payment had already been taken by the AELTC.
Wimbledon decided to roll over tickets allocated in the 2020 ballot to the 2021 tournament. Successful applicants in 2020 could purchase tickets for the same day and court for the The Championships 2021.
For this reason, there was no public ballot for 2021. 2020 tickets were subsequently rolled over again to 2022.
If an applicant who was successful in the 2020 ballot cannot use their 2022 ticket, Wimbledon may or may not make those tickets available for sale. Availability will ultimately depend on any reduction in overall spectator numbers for health and safety reasons.
Hospitality tickets
Keith Prowse is the official hospitality partner of The Championships, Wimbledon.
Keith Prowse offered all their customers the option to roll over their tickets to the equivalent day in 2021, or accept a full refund.
There are several other official hospitality resellers and each one should have offered a full refund to their customers, or the option to roll over to 2021.
Debenture tickets
Wimbledon refunded all debenture holders a pro-rata amount of the debenture issue price.
Contracts to pre-sell individual debenture tickets by Wimbledon debenture holders to third party re-sellers were cancelled.
Third party re-sellers offered customers full refunds, or a roll over. In some cases, third party re-sellers deducted administration charges from the refund amount.
Ticketmaster returned and reserved tickets
These tickets are only made available online on Ticketmaster a maximum of two days before the day of play. Therefore no refund was required.
Will there be fewer tickets available for Wimbledon 2022?
Yes. As a result of all of the rolled over tickets, many tickets for the 2022 tournament have already been allocated.
Competition for Wimbledon tickets is always fierce, but there will be even fewer tickets available for the 2022 Championship than in normal years.
There will still be returned tickets on the day, but buying a Wimbledon debenture ticket remains the most certain way to get tickets to Wimbledon.

It was an easy process
"I thought I'd send you a short note to thank you for dealing so efficiently with my Wimbledon debentures in 2021. It was an easy process to sell the days I didn't want to Green and Purple and payment was made promptly. I look forward to dealing with you again in the future."
