March 2026 preview
March brings the Sunshine Double, with the ATP and WTA Tours heading to back-to-back 1000-level events on opposite sides of the United States.
Indian Wells
World number one Carlos Alcaraz has won both of his events so far in 2026 and will aim to make it three titles in a row at a tournament he has already won twice. Jack Draper, who beat Alcaraz here last year, returns as defending champion after recently coming back from more than six months out with injury.
Taylor Fritz, a California native, won the only Masters title of his career at Indian Wells. Cameron Norrie has also lifted the trophy here. Novak Djokovic is the only other former champion in the men's draw and is a five-time winner, although he has not played since reaching the Australian Open final.
Jannik Sinner is still chasing his first final of the season after his opening two events, but remains one of the leading contenders. Alexander Zverev and Lorenzo Musetti, who is back from injury, will also be among the names to watch. Gael Monfils has received a wildcard in what is expected to be his final season on tour, while Stan Wawrinka has not.
On the women's side, Aryna Sabalenka will make her first appearance since losing the Australian Open final. Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina and Jessica Pegula are all set to play, along with defending champion Mirra Andreeva. Swiatek is a two-time Indian Wells champion, while Rybakina, Paula Badosa, Bianca Andreescu and Naomi Osaka are the other former winners in the field.
Miami
The Miami Open is expected to feature many of the same leading names as Indian Wells. Jakub Mensik stunned Djokovic in last year's final to win his first Masters title and will return to Florida as defending champion.
Djokovic, who first won the title 19 years ago, will be chasing a seventh Miami crown. Alcaraz, Sinner, Daniil Medvedev and Hubert Hurkacz are the other former champions entered this year.
The women's draw is also expected to mirror Indian Wells closely. Sabalenka returns as defending champion, while Swiatek is the only other former winner currently in the field.
Wildcards for Miami have not yet been announced.
