Offers for buyers
How do offers work?
All listings accept offers. You submit an offer price and the seller can accept, decline, or send a counteroffer. If your offer is accepted (or you accept a counteroffer), you then need to pay to complete the purchase.
What happens when my offer is accepted?
An agreement is formed at the accepted price and your Checkout Exclusivity Period starts. The sale becomes a binding contract once you complete payment.
What is the Checkout Exclusivity Period?
It is a 2 hour window after your offer is accepted (or you accept a counteroffer). During this time, only you can pay for those tickets at the agreed price.
What if I do not pay within the Checkout Exclusivity Period?
You can still pay at the accepted price after the 2 hours ends, but the seller can accept other offers. If the seller accepts another buyer's offer, you may be temporarily blocked from paying while that other buyer's 2-hour exclusivity window runs.
Why can I not pay even though my offer was accepted?
This can happen if the seller accepted another buyer's offer after your Checkout Exclusivity Period ended. While that new buyer's 2-hour exclusivity window is active, you cannot pay. If that buyer does not pay and their window ends, you can pay again (as long as your accepted offer has not expired).
How long does an accepted offer stay valid?
Accepted offers (including accepted counteroffers) automatically expire 6 days after acceptance if payment has not been received. After that, you cannot pay at the agreed price.
Can the seller retract an accepted offer?
Yes. Outside the Checkout Exclusivity Period, the seller may retract and close an accepted offer, as long as no other buyer has entered a new Checkout Exclusivity Period for those tickets.
If I accept a counteroffer, do I still get a Checkout Exclusivity Period?
Yes. A 2 hour Checkout Exclusivity Period starts when you accept the seller's counteroffer.
If I buy using Buy It Now, does any of this apply?
No. If you purchase at the Buy It Now price, that creates a binding contract and you must pay for the tickets.
Can you explain the offer and checkout process in a simple timeline?
Yes. Here is the typical flow:
- You make an offer → the seller accepts (or you accept a counteroffer)
- You get 2 hour to pay (Checkout Exclusivity Period)
- If you pay in time → purchase completes and tickets move to transfer
- If you do not pay in time → you can still pay later, but:
- the seller can accept another offer
- if they do, the new buyer gets their own 2 hour exclusivity window
- during that window, you cannot pay
- If no one pays → accepted offers expire after 6 days

Selling Tickets
Listing your tickets
Can I sell one ticket, a pair, or a larger group?
Yes. Most holders own pairs and most buyers want pairs. If you have more than 2 adjacent seats for a day, groups of 4, 6, 8 or more can fetch a premium and the system will guide pricing. You can also sell tickets individually.
Can I sell a single ticket or an odd number of tickets?
Yes. Buyers usually prefer pairs, but groups of 3, 4 or more can command a per-ticket premium. You can split listings into individual tickets if you want. Contact support if you need a different configuration.
Can I list my tickets elsewhere as well?
Yes. If you sell elsewhere or tickets are no longer available, you must promptly update your Green & Purple listings to reflect the change.
Can I receive more than one offer at the same time?
Yes. Offers expire within 48 hours and you can receive offers from multiple buyers during that period, then choose which offer to accept.
How do offers work for sellers?
Offers below the Minimum Acceptable Price are automatically rejected (you can choose to be notified). You have 24 hours to accept, decline, or counteroffer. Buyers are limited to a maximum of 3 offers per ticket.
Will I have direct contact with the buyer?
Yes. When you receive an offer or make a counteroffer, you negotiate directly with the buyer through the platform.
Am I selling to Green & Purple, or directly to the buyer?
You sell directly to buyers. Green & Purple arranges ticket transfer to the buyer and payment to the seller, so buyers receive tickets and sellers receive proceeds.
Offers for sellers
What can I do when I receive an offer?
You can accept it, decline it, or make a counteroffer to the buyer.
What happens when I accept a buyer's offer?
A Checkout Exclusivity Period starts. For the next 2 hours, that buyer has exclusive rights to pay at the accepted price, and you cannot accept other offers during that time.
What are my obligations during the Checkout Exclusivity Period?
During the 2-hour exclusivity window you must keep the tickets available through Green & Purple and you must not sell, transfer, or give them away elsewhere.
What if I sell the tickets elsewhere during the Checkout Exclusivity Period?
If you sell, transfer, or give away the tickets during the Checkout Exclusivity Period (or otherwise fail to honour the accepted offer), Green & Purple's commission remains payable by you.
What if the buyer does not pay within the Checkout Exclusivity Period?
After the 2 hour period ends, the buyer can still pay, but you are free to accept offers from other buyers. Each time you accept a new offer, that new buyer gets a 2 hour exclusivity window, which temporarily blocks previous buyers from paying.
Can I retract an accepted offer?
Yes. Outside the Checkout Exclusivity Period, you may retract and close an accepted offer, provided no other buyer has entered a new Checkout Exclusivity Period for those tickets.
When does an accepted offer expire if no one pays?
Accepted offers automatically expire 6 days after acceptance if payment has not been received. After that, you are free to accept new offers or sell the tickets by other means.
When do I need to transfer the tickets after a buyer pays?
After payment, you should transfer the tickets to Green & Purple's myWimbledon account as soon as possible so they can be transferred to the buyer.
Verification and protection
How does Green & Purple protect sellers?
Ticket transfers are handled through the AELTC's myWimbledon app and the process is integrated with it. Tickets are only transferred once full payment has been made.
How do you verify debenture holders?
We verify debenture holders to confirm ownership and reduce speculative listings. We ask sellers to provide evidence of their debenture and ticket allocation.
Do I or my tickets need to be verified before I can list tickets?
Yes. The verification process confirms ownership, reassures buyers, and prevents speculative trader activity.
Can I sell tickets if I am not the debenture certificate holder?
