How the Buying Process Works

Green & Purple helps tennis fans buy Wimbledon debenture tickets directly from verified debenture holders. You can choose the exact seats you want, buy instantly at a seller's 'Buy Now' price, or negotiate directly through offers and counteroffers. Green & Purple handles the payment flow and ticket transfer process through myWimbledon, so buyers and sellers can transact with confidence.
Step 1: Create your account
Before you can buy tickets, you need to create a Green & Purple account. Registration is quick, and once your account is set up you can view listings, make offers, and complete purchases through the platform.

Step 2: Search for the right tickets
Browse available Wimbledon debenture ticket listings by date, court, quantity, and seat location. One of the advantages of debenture tickets is that you can often choose the exact seats you want, rather than buying without knowing where you will be sitting.
Step 3: Decide whether to buy now or make an offer
If the seller has added a 'Buy Now' price, you can secure the tickets immediately at that price. If not, or if you want to negotiate, you can make an offer through the platform. The seller can accept, reject, or send you a counteroffer.
Step 4: Agree the price
If your offer is accepted, or if you accept a seller's counteroffer, you move to checkout at the agreed price. On Green & Purple, the price shown is the price you pay. The seller pays the commission, so there are no extra buyer fees added on top at checkout.
Step 5: Complete payment securely
Once an offer or counteroffer is accepted, a 2-hour Checkout Exclusivity Period begins. During that time, you have exclusive rights to complete payment for the tickets at the agreed price, and the seller cannot accept another buyer's offer. Buyers can pay using the payment methods shown at checkout, including PayPal, credit card, debit card, or bank transfer. Your payment details are not shared with the seller.
Step 6: Understand what happens if you do not pay in time
If you do not complete payment during the 2-hour Checkout Exclusivity Period, you may still be able to pay at the agreed price afterwards. However, the seller can then accept another buyer's offer. If that happens, the new buyer gets their own Checkout Exclusivity Period and you may be temporarily unable to complete your purchase. Accepted offers automatically expire 6 days after acceptance if payment has not been received.
Step 7: The seller transfers the tickets
After payment is completed, the seller transfers the tickets to Green & Purple's myWimbledon account. Green & Purple then transfers them to your myWimbledon account. If the tickets were bought well in advance, they are transferred at least 7 days before the event when purchased a week or more ahead, at least 1 day before the event when purchased within a week, and in time for entry on the day for last-minute purchases made within 48 hours of the start of play.
Step 8: Receive your tickets in myWimbledon
Once the tickets reach your myWimbledon account, you will be able to see them there ready for use. Green & Purple manages the transfer process between seller and buyer to help make sure the ticket details match the listing and that the tickets arrive in time for entry.
Step 9: Attend Wimbledon, or relist if your plans change
Once your tickets are in your myWimbledon account, you are ready for your day at The Championships. If your plans change and you can no longer attend, valid tickets you have bought may be relisted for resale on the website.
What if my plans change or I cannot go?
If your plans change after buying, whether because of a change in circumstances or a cancelled flight, you can relist your Wimbledon debenture tickets for sale through the Green & Purple marketplace. This gives buyers a practical way to try to recover their money if they can no longer attend. Because Green & Purple supports both advance and last-minute sales, tickets can be resold even close to the event date, subject to demand, with our team helping to manage the transfer process on your behalf.
Buyer protection and important points
Green & Purple acts as the intermediary between buyer and seller and manages payment and ticket transfer, but the sale itself is between buyer and seller. If a seller cannot supply the correct tickets, Green & Purple may offer you alternative tickets. If you do not want the alternatives, the transaction is cancelled and your payment is returned in full. If the seller fails to transfer the tickets, a full refund is issued to the buyer.
If tickets are transferred in error, the buyer must return them promptly to Green & Purple's myWimbledon account. If Green & Purple cannot fulfil the sale because the seller cannot supply the correct listed tickets, the buyer is fully refunded.
If the event day, or the tournament itself, is cancelled, Green & Purple states that the buyer is entitled to a refund from the seller, with refunds handled under the cancellation provisions in the terms. The terms also say refunds are processed within 7 days of official notification of cancellation by the AELTC, less any permitted deductions connected with the cancellation.
