Bo Ponomari Wins Green & Purple Photography Prize 2026

We are delighted to announce that Bo Ponomari has won the Green & Purple Photography Prize 2026, our inaugural photography competition celebrating 'The Spirit of Wimbledon'.
Bo takes home first prize: a Leica D-Lux 8 camera with a leather case. His success is a fitting conclusion to a competition that brought together photographs celebrating the people, traditions and atmosphere that make Wimbledon so special.
Capturing the Spirit of Wimbledon
Our 2026 competition invited photographers to capture what Wimbledon means to them. Beyond the tennis itself, we wanted to see the moments, details and perspectives that make The Championships such a memorable experience.
Bo's featured competition photograph demonstrates the power of a carefully observed moment. A tennis player stands on the grass with her racket at her side, while a long shadow stretches across the court. The simple composition, strong contrast and distinctive perspective create an image that feels unmistakably Wimbledon.
It is a reminder that memorable sports photography does not always require a dramatic rally or a championship-winning point. Sometimes the most compelling images come from noticing something others might overlook.
Meet Our Winner: Bo Ponomari
Based in London, Bo Ponomari is a photographer and filmmaker with a keen eye for composition, light and the details of everyday life.
His photography extends well beyond the tennis court. His online portfolio includes architecture, art, sculpture and scenes captured through his own perspective.
Bo's work has attracted a substantial online audience. His Pexels photography portfolio features more than 90 photographs and has accumulated over 27 million views.
His interest in visual storytelling also extends to filmmaking, bringing another dimension to his creative work.
