Wimbledon 2025

The ATP and WTA seasons came to a close, with season ending championships in Riyadh and Turin.

Rybakina wins WTA Finals to finish season strong

Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina both were unbeaten in their respective groups, with Jessica Pegula and Amanda Anisimova also advancing. Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek only won one match each, with Jasmine Paolini and Madison Keys winless.

Sabalenka and Rybakina maintained their unbeaten record in the Semi Finals, overcoming Anisimova and Pegula respectively, both in three sets. Rybakina then capped off a perfect week in Riyadh with a straight sets win over Sabalenka to win the title. Sabalenka had already secured the Year End World Number 1 ranking before the event.

Sinner completes Paris and Turin indoor double

Carlos Alcaraz suffered a shock loss in his Paris opener against Cameron Norrie. Alex Bublik had a strong run, beating Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur to reach the Semi Finals, but Felix Auger-Aliassime stopped the Kazakh's run to reach the Final.

Jannik Sinner beat Ben Shelton and Alex Zverev, both in straight sets, to make the Final. The Italian beat Auger-Aliassime to win his first title in Paris. Auger-Aliassime’s performance in the event meant that he secured his place at the ATP Finals.

Djokovic withdraws from the Finals

After winning the ATP 250 title in Athens, Novak Djokovic withdrew from the ATP Finals, giving a place to the man he beat in that Final, Lorenzo Musetti. Alcaraz and Sinner both won their groups without losing a match, with Alex de Minaur and Felix Auger-Aliassime also advancing.

Fritz and Musetti both won a match each, but de Minaur secured a 2nd place finish despite only winning one match as well, due to sets and games won. Zverev lost out to Auger-Aliassime in his group, and Shelton exited with no wins on debut.

Alcaraz beat Auger-Aliassime and Sinner beat de Minaur, to set up the pair’s sixth and last meeting of the year. Sinner was victorious in two closely fought sets to defend his ATP Finals title, and to win it without dropping a set for the second year in a row. Despite that, Alcaraz did enough in Turin to secure the Year End World Number 1 for the second time in his career.
