ATP

The most dominant men’s player on clay ever, Rafael Nadal, announced last month that he would miss four to six weeks due to a rib injury, putting his participation in this month’s events in serious doubt. The most prestigious men’s event this month is the Masters 1000 event in Monte Carlo, where Stefanos Tsitsipas is the defending champion.

World number 1 Novak Djokovic, who has played just one event this year due to being unvaccinated, is on the entry list, as is Dominic Thiem who made his comeback last month. Veterans Stan Wawrinka and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga have received wildcards. There is an ATP500 event in Barcelona, and there are also ATP 250 events in Houston (United States), Marrakech (Morocco), Belgrade (Serbia), Munich (Germany) and Estoril (Portugal).

WTA

There is a WTA125 clay event underway already in Andalucia, as well as the Miami WTA1000. There is another WTA1000 event taking place in Madrid at the end of the month, the entry list is yet to be released. There are two WTA500 events in Charleston (United States) and Stuttgart (Germany) and WTA250 events in Bogota (Colombia) and Istanbul (Turkey).
