Outside of the Grand Slams, March sees two of the biggest events of the year; the United States' 'Sunshine Double' of Indian Wells and Miami.
Indian Wells
The 1000 level event for both tours takes place in the Californian desert. Carlos Alcaraz injured himself in Rio de Janeiro last month, but vows he will be fit for the upcoming Masters events. He is the defending champion, and will have to contend with Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev and the rest of the top 30 if he wants to defend his crown. Rafael Nadal will also play, having used a protected ranking to enter. 18 year-old Czech Jakub Mensik has received a wildcard, as have Fabio Fognini, Brandon Nakashima, Aleksandar Kovacevic and Patrick Kypson.
On the women's side, Elena Rybakina is the defending champion. She joins Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula in the draw. The likes of Venus Williams, Carolina Wozniacki, Karolina Pliskova and Emma Raducanu have received wildcards, as well as 2021 champion Paula Badosa and Amanda Anisimova, adding to an already stellar field.

Miami
On the opposite coast, the field for Miami is very similar to Indian Wells, with all of the top 30 men's players currently entered here too. Daniil Medvedev will look to defend his title here. The only wildcard announced so far is former US Open Finalist Kei Nishikori. A pair of former top 10 Canadians have used protected rankings to enter here and Indian Wells: Denis Shapovalov and Milos Raonic. Matteo Berrettini has also entered here, having not played yet in 2024.
Petra Kvitova is the defending champion, but she will not play having announced her pregnancy at the start of the year. Like the men's side, the women's side features a very similar entry list to Indian Wells, with Williams, Wozniacki and Raducanu also receiving wildcards here.
