September 2024
The final Grand Slam of 2024 takes place predominantly in September: the US Open in New York.
Djokovic and Gauff to defend titles
Novak Djokovic hadn’t won a title this year until winning that treasured Olympic gold medal in Paris last month. The Serb hasn’t played competitively since then, and will hope to defend the title he won last year in New York. Having been cleared of wrongdoing in a doping investigation, world number 1 Jannik Sinner will compete in Flushing Meadows, off the back of a win in Cincinatti. Carlos Alcaraz, Alex Zverev and Daniil Medvedev will be the other main contenders for the title. 2020 champion Dominic Thiem will play his last Grand Slam here after accepting a wildcard.
Coco Gauff won the tournament here last year in sensational fashion, and will hope to do the same again. All three Grand Slam champions this year: Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek and Barbora Krejcikova, will be looking to win their second of the year. Elena Rybakina, Jasmine Paolini and Olympic gold medallist Qinwen Zheng are some of the other contenders here. Danielle Collins will play her last Grand Slam.
Alcaraz and Nadal headline Laver Cup
The two Spaniards lead a strong European team in the Laver Cup, held in Berlin this year. They will be joined by Zverev, Medvedev, Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Team World, aiming for their third title in a row, consists of Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Tommy Paul, Frances Tiafoe and Alejandro Tabilo.
It was an easy process
"I thought I'd send you a short note to thank you for dealing so efficiently with my Wimbledon debentures in 2021. It was an easy process to sell the days I didn't want to Green and Purple and payment was made promptly. I look forward to dealing with you again in the future."
