Can you Resell Wimbledon Tickets? Rules Explained

You can only resell or transfer Wimbledon debenture tickets, but there may be other options if you have a different type of ticket.
Only Wimbledon debenture tickets can be resold
Most Wimbledon tickets are issued on terms that ban resale and many forms of transfer. If you break these terms, your ticket can be cancelled.
Debenture tickets are different. They are the only Wimbledon tickets that can be legally sold and transferred.
So if you have standard public tickets, resale is usually not allowed. This includes tickets from the Ballot, The Queue, LTA allocations, and promotions.

What are my options if I cannot go?
If you cannot attend and you do not have debenture tickets, the table below summarises your options:
| Ticket type | Can I transfer my tickets? | Can I resell my tickets? | What other options do I have? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Debenture ticket | Yes | Yes | |
| Public ballot tickets | No | No, but you can get your money back. | Sign in to your myWimbledon account, go to your tickets, and choose 'Request a refund'. Refunds are usually paid back to the original card within 5 to 10 working days. |
| Tickets obtained in the queue | No | No | Can be handed back to the resale kiosk if you leave early |
| LTA | No | No, but you can get your money back. | You can obtain a refund via your myWimbledon account or LTA account. |
| Hospitality tickets | Yes, usually. You can often transfer hospitality tickets in advance by updating the guest names in your account. | No, but you may be able to get your money back. | Usually non-refundable if you cannot attend. Check the hospitality provider’s terms and conditions. |
| Ground pass | No | No | Can be handed back to the resale kiosk if you leave early |
Are there any workarounds?
You may see people suggest shortcuts like sharing your myWimbledon account details or handing over the phone that displays the ticket. These are prohibited for non-debenture tickets, and you will need to show ID that matches the ticket holder when you enter the grounds.
What about Wimbledon’s on-site Ticket Resale kiosk?
Wimbledon runs an official Ticket Resale kiosk on-site. Spectators can return their tickets when leaving the Grounds if they do not plan to return that day. Returned tickets are then resold via the kiosk, and anyone already in the Grounds can buy them.
This mainly applies to returned show court tickets for Grounds Pass holders. It is not a marketplace where ticket holders can sell tickets themselves.

Are the UK rules on ticket resale changing?
In late 2025, the UK government announced plans to clamp down on resale for profit and cap fees.
Reporting also noted that Wimbledon debenture tickets are expected to be exempt from the ban on for-profit ticket resale, as preventing resale would stop Wimbledon reinvesting debenture proceeds in the maintenance of its facilities.
