When tickets to the Championships go on sale depends on the type of ticket you are looking for, and various other factors. Here’s what you need to know.
Wimbledon Public Ballot Tickets
The historic Wimbledon Public Ballot usually runs from September to December in the year before the event. Successful applicants would then typically be notified the following February (or April to May in the Second Ballot)
However , following the cancellation off the Tournament in 2020 and the rollover of 2021 Ballot tickets to 2022, there will be no Public Ballot in 2022.
It is assumed that normality will return in 2023.
The Wimbledon Queue
The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) keeps a number of tickets in reserve for allocation to the Wimbledon queue.
Tickets go on sale at 9.15am on the morning of play. Fans will have been camping out in the famous Wimbledon Queue from the previous day at least.
Wimbledon Debenture Tickets
Wimbledon Debenture Tickets are the only tickets to the Championships that can are legally transferable. There is an active secondary market for Wimbledon Debenture Tickets.
Wimbledon Debentures Tickets are on sale all year round and could even be purchased years ahead of the Tournament if so desired.
